Kayangan Api : Famous Yet Not Well Maintained

    Kayangan Api, a tourist attraction with eternal fire. Kayangan Api is famous for its eternal fire that never goes out even when it rains. Kayangan Api's located in one of the villages in Bojonegoro Regency called Sendangharjo. Kayangan Api has become a tourist icon in Bojonegoro which attracted many local visitors. To get to the place where Kayangan Api located, it takes at least more than 30 minutes by motorbike. The location of Kayangan Api is far from the center of the city of Bojonegoro, the distance is about 20 KM. On the way to Kayangan Api, visitors must pass through a teak forest area that is far from residential areas. Like the others tourist attraction, in Kayangan api there are many facilities and interesting spot.

Kayangan Api's Facilities and it defect

    There are many facilities in Kayangan Api, however the facilities are not well maintained. 

• Public Toilet

In Kayangan Api, there are three public toilet, one public toilet for people with disabilities and the two public toilet is for general visitors. The public toilet for people with disabilities still nice and clean, yet the two public toilet for general visitors in Kayangan Api are a bit dirty and the location is a bit secluded. 

• Mosque

There is one mosque that is equipped with a mukena in Kayangan Api. This mosque is quite well maintained but when I visited heaven fire, the floor of the mosque was a bit dirty and there was a lot of dust. 

• Parking lot

Like the other tourist attraction, there is a large parking area in Kayangan Api. The parking area in Kayangan Api is quite spacious, the visitors can park their car or motorbike wherever they want and the parking fee is only IDR 2000 for motorbike, but the parking guard in parking area is only one person so the security is not guaranteed. 

• Canteen and Rest Area

There is also a canteen and rest area. In the rest area, several shops are selling instant noodles and other foods, the sellers here are mostly old people. The canteen in Kayangan Api is small and a little shabby because the place is not well maintained. The entrance ticket to Kayangan Api is also quite cheap, only IDR 8500 for one person.

    Kayangan Api's Interesting Spot and It Damages

• Eternal Fire Spot    

There is many interesting spot in Kayangan Api, and that is the main attraction of the place, the fire itself. The eternal flame is located in the middle of this tourism spot and right in the middle of a circular stone with small stones in it, but some stones in the circle that surround the fire are damaged and missing. Around the circular stone, there are four small buildings shaped like temples. 

• Jangkug Luk Telu Blong Pok Gonjo Spot

There is also a statue of a dagger "Jangkug Luk Telu Blong Pok Gonjo," along with the philosophical meaning of the dagger, unfortunatly this spot has a lot of damage. Starting from the wooden floor that is already brittle and the statue that has been eroded in some parts. There is no damages in this spot, but because there are a lot of trees around this spot, so many leaves are falling in this spot and there are also some fallen branches from trees around this spot.

• Rumah Nyepi Spot

In the left of the statue there is an area called the Rumah Nyepi. In Rumah Nyepi there are three tiny houses and one place where Empu Supa meditates, the visitors can take a picture in this spot because the tiny house looks old like a house in the past. In the right of the Rumah Nyepi exit there is a place that is believed to be the exact same spot where Empu Supa makes all of his iron tools. 

• Sulfur Well Spot

The last attraction icon is a well that smells of sulfur and continues to boil even until now. There is also large hall, usually this hall is used as a performance venue at certain times.

    The complete facilities in Kayangan Api yet not well maintained is the minus point here.  The main attraction of Kayangan Api is the fire itself. The ever-burning fire makes this a favorite object for visitors. The tiny house in Nyepi House spot which looks old can be used as a photo spot for tourists. The hall in heaven, which is used as a performance venue, can also provide more entertainment for tourists. Kayangan Api is a promising tourist attraction in Bojonegoro, but unfortunately this tourist attraction has received less attention from the local government.
